Gaddafi the Evil Joker

Jonathan Kay, tongue firmly lodged in cheek, says that Muammar Gaddafi's claim that what he's doing in Libya is akin to what Israel did in Gaza means that the Colonel is signalling his approval of the Jewish State. In reality, it's likelier a sign of the despot's desperation, and of his desire, even at what for him is the most desperate of times, to play a really dark, sick joke on the Jews (as if to say, "Look, Jews, I'm just like you; look, world, I'm just like them"). In other words, the Gaddafi version of the Nazis' "Arbeit Macht Frei."
