It's War, Man!

The man who cornered the market on Section 13 complaints hits back--hard--at the man who made that statute look like the utter laughingstock, the travesty of "human rights," that it is. Joseph Brean writes it up in the National Post:
Richard Warman, Canada's top online hate-hunter and scourge of free speech advocates, yesterday offered his first public response to the online campaign against him led by conservative blogger and lawyer Ezra Levant.
In court filings for a libel suit, Mr. Warman calls Mr. Levant's conduct toward him "obsessive," states he "has no respect for authority," and says it is "surprising" he is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta.

"Mr. Levant is in the habit of fabricating extremely serious allegations of misconduct against others," Mr. Warman states in an affidavit filed in Ontario Superior Court.

"He describes various human rights tribunals across Canada as 'kangaroo courts.' He vilifies their members, he accuses their lawyers of lying to them (without any evidence) and he mocks those who would dare to disagree with him."

In a brief hearing yesterday, Mr. Levant's lawyer, Peter Jacobsen, said Mr. Warman has made "irrelevant and scandalous accusations," and that he will file a full written response in two weeks.

Mr. Levant declined to comment on them yesterday...
"Mocking" the fascist 'roo courts? "Vilifying" the appatchiks? Dissing "authority"? Seems to me Ezra's under the impression that he lives in a free society, where one has the right to be irreverent and hock a loogie at the monsters of political correctness. It's the other guy who can't quite get the hang of freedom, and who insists that everyone must blindly follow the censors' orders, no matter what, no questions asked.

Rather ironic, no?, that Dickie, who's obviously a big fan of following orders, has made it his mission--you might even call it his obsession--to stamp out those who are as fond of authoritarianism as he is (the difference being that their authoritarianism wears a Hitler moustache whereas his sports a nice smiley face).

Update: Another fan of smiley-faced authoritarianism sweetly tweets "Libel filings show battle between hate-hunter and conservative blogger http://tinyurl.com/yjqpvle."

Update: My letter:

Given how thin-skinned he seem to be, one hesitates to say anything even mildly critical about highly litigious "hate hunter" Richard Warman. However, before the intrepid Nazi-hunter hyperventilates that Ezra Levant is “obsessive,” it might be a good idea for him to look in the mirror. He might see the visage of a true obsessive: an individual who spent his days impersonating a Nazi and indulging in a game of “gotcha” with a few pathetic White Power types (who posed absolutely no threat to anyone); a man who, with his serial complaints under Section 13, singlehandedly kept the federal censors in business.
If I have to choose between “obsessives,” I think I’ll go with the one who’s trying to restore our Charter-guaranteed right to free speech, not the one who is doing his utmost to effect its demise.

Seems like Lactose Lucy (aka "maximum disruption") is in a state of nipple confusion. Big Momma of the nanny state is attempting to wean him off the government teat but he will seek a surrogate to supplant his twisted needs.

Mr. Warman - it is you and your idled "human rights" Maytag(tm) appliance repairmen/personnel that bring shame and disrespect to your profession. (No disrespect to Maytag(tm) appliance technicians - they actually serve a useful and worthy purpose when the equipment falls into disrepute).

Question: What kind of "lawyer" would respond with "I can't remember" 157 times during a hearing at the Kangaroo court?

Why isn't Warman investigated and disiplined by the appropriate Law Society for possible misconduct?

I don't understand your rather strange "update". Seems to me all Farber did was tweet the original NP story and its headline> So what?

"has no respect for authority,"

And here all along I thought that a virtue. For in my experience Authority usually means the misfits are in charge with no sense.
These guys prove everyday the only humor they display is the hurt or mocking of others.
Ezra I suspect has plenty of respect for real authority. You know? Those folks who take personnel responsibility. Not run from it or hide it.

"Authority" that trashes the truth and free speech in favour of sparing people's precious feelings isn't worthy of respect.
