Paltry Number of Neo-Nazis No Impediment to Canucki Fear Mongers

The Ceej posts the Globe and Mail report about the dwindling number of neo-Nazis in Calgary, the city which, just the other day, the G&M claimed was "the epicentre" of Canada's white power movement.

Don't let the laughably small number of "Nazis" who showed up for a "white power" rally (which was met by a much larger crowd of anti-racist counter-protesters) fool you, though. As "hate" expert Warren Kinsella notes in the article

“They don’t need a whole bunch of people. They actually prefer to have smaller numbers because it makes detection and infiltration easier to avoid,” Mr. Kinsella said in an interview. “They operate on the basis that small numbers can do large harm.”

Calgary was alone among Canadian cities in hosting a neo-Nazi demonstration on Saturday. But Mr. Kinsella, a former Calgarian, argued this is no reason to believe white supremacists have abandoned those cities.

“There is a danger into being lulled into a false sense of security by minimal numbers,” he said.

As opposed to the danger of the minimal numbers lulling you into a false sense of insecurity. But I guess if a significant part of your bread and butter is contingent upon your ability to scare people about homegrown "Nazis," you're far more likely to be concerned about the former "false sense" than the latter one.
