Why Did the Pope Quote a Muslim Poet In His Climate Change Encyclical?

According to one informed source, it's because the Pope is "trying to foster ecumenical and interfaith dialogue about shared spirituality."

Sigh. This Pope is proving to be a major disappointment in the smarts department.

Nothing good ever came from the Jesuits.

Old French proverb 'When two Jesuits meet , the devil appears for a threesome'

I had my doubts about him from day one.

Is it a Jesuit thing or a leftist thing? Or both? (I'm asking because I really don't have the answer.)
