Free Speech? Knock It Off, Kafir

Free speech is the linchpin of a free society. It's no wonder, then, that those who are hot for "submission," the antithesis of freedom as we understand it, would band together at the UN (where might is right) to try to snuff it out:
Muslim governments are pressing the United Nations to step up investigations of Western countries to root out "Islamophobia" -- discrimination against people of the Muslim faith. Western diplomats say the Islamic bloc in the UN Human Rights Council has drafted new guidelines for the UN's freedom-of-religion investigator that aim to shield Islam from commentary Muslims might deem derogatory. One provision calls on the investigator to "work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity." Once passed, the new mandate could see Western countries come under increased UN pressure to prevent criticism of Islam, even if that means overriding traditional freedom of speech protections.
Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. And then do your utmost to defy the control freaks by telling them to naff off and by promoting Islamophobiaphilia--not the love of prejudice against Muslims (no one is promoting that, and, anyway, that's not what "Islamophobia" is about, as those who invented and purvey it well know); the love of speaking out freely and criticizing totalitarianisms of every stripe, even those that claim to be unassailable because they are grounded in divine revelation.
