Throwing Good Money After Bad

What's Obama's "solution" for the relentlessly intractable Israel "problem"? In a nutshell: imagine there's no jihad and throw tons more moolah/jizya at the Palestinians. Or, as he explained during a joint press conference with Mahmoud Abbas:
In the meantime [the time between now and whenever it is that Israel, Egypt, the Palestinians and the international community are able come up with the magical formula that will bring about the fantastical "two-state solution"] the United States -- which is already the biggest humanitarian aid donor in Gaza -- is going to be announcing an additional $400 million in assistance for housing, school construction, business development -- not only in Gaza, but also in the West Bank, because we think it's important for us to reaffirm once again our commitment to improving the day-to-day lives of ordinary Palestinians.
And what better way to "reffirm" it than to once again line the pockets of Palestinian leadership--the ultimate destination of who-can-say-how-much of this "aid"--and pretend that in so doing you are "improving" the lives of "ordinary Palestinians" (you know--the ones who elected Hamas)?
