There's a new 90 day immigration ban is in effect, and "social justice"-minded U.S. Jewish groups--including this one--are once again up in arms:
The social justice group Bend the Arc Jewish Action said it would “fight for our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
“This is not about national security — he is targeting Muslims, immigrants and refugees purely out of spite and fear, but national security experts agree that his action today will not keep us safer,” the group’s CEO, Stosh Cotler, said in a statement.
Stosh, you probably won't be surprised to learn, tends to feel more kindly toward her "Muslim brothers and sisters" than she does toward her fellow Jews. Here's how her bona fides (if you can call 'em that) were described on the occasion of being named head of this bendy racket (back in '14; my bolds):
It’s not just that she only connected with Judaism as an adult or that her appearance during an interview in her Manhattan office — all-black clothes, dark red lipstick, pale blue fingernail polish and a visible tattoo on her arm — is more Goth than corporate. How many Jewish communal CEOs have a black belt in kung fu, trained women in self-defense, danced at a sex club or protested Israel’s treatment of Palestinians during the second intifada?
The 45-year-old Olympia, Wash., native declined to discuss her past or present views on Israel, which she said are not relevant to her work at Bend the Arc.
Fun gal. And, it must be said, Linda Sarsour's kind of Jew (i.e. the kind who isn't into "litmus tests").
