Whatever Would the UN DO Without "The Palestinians"?

As Jonah Goldberg points out, that country club for dictators, despots and desperados could likely not survive but for the perpetually ginned-up Palestinian "crisis":

It needs to be remembered that the U.N. hates Israel because it is in the political interests of member states, particularly Arab states, which use Palestinians as a distraction from their own despotisms, to hate Israel. Think of all the horrors and crimes committed by evil governments around the world. Now think about the fact that from 2006 to 2015 alone the U.N. has condemned Israel 62 times. All of the other nations combined have received 55 condemnations. Iran? Five. The genocidal Sudanese? Zero. Anarchic Somalia? Zero. Saudi Arabia? Zero. Pakistan? Zero. China? Zero. Russia? Zero.

The U.N., more than any other player save the Palestinian leadership itself, is responsible for the horrible plight of the Palestinians because it is in its institutional interest to keep the issue alive. After World War II, there were untold millions of refugees all around the world; they all found homes and settled down — except for the Palestinians.

The most telling number, I think, is this one: Syria, where a government-sponsored genocide has been successfully unfolding for years now, is, at a mere 17 condemnations, a distant also-ran to Israel.

Thus has Israelhass, the latest iteration of the longest hatred, pretty much trashed the joint. Time to pack it up and start over, sans the despotic haters, no?

The Reason for Trudeau's Deafening Silence Re the UN's Latest Anti-Israel Resolution

The reason was revealed by Tory MP Peter Kent in a blistering attack on our ninny PM's muteness:

“Every action the Liberals have taken to date in terms of their foreign policy has been towards one goal and one goal only: securing a seat on the United Nations Security Council,” charged Kent, adding, “Standing up for Canada’s national interests, and the interests of our allies, has come second to the Liberal Party goal of appeasing the UN. The silence from the Liberal government on this anti-Israeli resolution is shameful, but it is not surprising.  

“Conservatives will never sacrifice principle for a go along to get along approach. The fact is Israel is a democratic, pluralistic, peaceful and scientifically advanced country. People from all faiths and walks of life contribute to Israeli governance and civil society. With this resolution, the United Nations Security Council has needlessly damaged the peace process,” he wrote.

“The deafening silence on this resolution from Canada’s Liberal government, and especially from Foreign Affairs Minister Stephane Dion, has once again shown that Liberals put their political goals ahead of standing up for Canada’s allies and our national interest,” concluded Kent.

Happy 2017! This is the year we finally get to bid farewell to Barack Hussein Obama, the POTUS with the leastest who did his worstest, especially from a Democratic perspective:

He has decimated their party. The things they care the most about are, from the progressive point of view, mostly either in stasis or in regress: climate-change legislation, economic inequality, abortion, transnational governance, etc. The Left is strangely focused at the moment on exotica such as which dressing room transsexuals use at the gym and whether nonconformist bakers can be obliged at gunpoint to bake a cake for Bill and Ted’s excellent wedding. Their national leaders are elderly, intellectually narrow hacks of the kind who give hacks a bad name. Their great hope is an author of self-help books who smoothed her academic career by pretending to be a Cherokee.

Of this you can be sure: that faux-Native has about as much a shot at leading the land as another "progressive" loser named Lizzie has of becoming Canada's next prime minister.

As a parting shot to the POTUS who, for the sake of his "progressive" agenda of identity politics and a curdled, corrosive and very personal loathing of Bibi Netanyahu could not resist shafting the Jewish state one last time, I thought I'd revise a highly appropriate Lerner-Lowe number:

The phrase that struck me that Kerry used: 'America can't stand idly by' - because of these Israeli settlements. 'Stand idly by' has been the Obama modus operandi in that region since he took office. He has stood idly by as half a million people have died in Syria, and Iraq has been swept by ISIS. Millions and millions of people have been set loose across the region, so-called refugees destabilizing American allies in Europe...

To which Steyn adds this zinger (on his website):

Obama and Kerry have been happy to "stand idly by" for mass murder, decapitations, burnings, sex slavery, ethnocultural cleansing, etc, etc, etc. But put up a Jewish subdivision and all of a sudden they're not going to stand idly by, no sirree.
