"The Two State Solution" or Weekend at Barry's

It is well worth reading Daniel Greenfield's post mortem of "the two state solution" and how the only thing it ever "solved" was the dearth of Jewish graves. If you're short on time, though, here's the take-away:
The two-state solution however never existed. There will only be one state in Israel. The question is whether it will be a Jewish State or an Islamic terror state.
'xactly.

Meet George Jetson

Turns out he's Israeli. (Will Israel-deplorer/Flinstones vs. Jetsons fan Thomas L. Friedman ever be able to recover from the blow?)

Tinpot Time

And this year's winner of the Barack H. Obama Defense Department's medal for "Distinguished Public Service" is (drumroll, please)...

Barack H. Obama!

I know. You could have knocked me over with a feather, too.

https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/t heatre-of-the-oppressed-ticket s-30087397215>
*Accessibility: *This is a barrier free space. Subway tokens available to
attendees by request. IMPORTANT: This workshop is movement-based. Please contact Lukayo at opirg.toronto@gmail.com by January 15th, to discuss how to make this workshop as accessible as possible for you.

Join us for an intro to 'Theatre of the Oppressed', a model that uses games
and techniques developed by Brazilian theatre director, writer and
politician Augusto Boal. These participatory 'popular education' tools motivate us to deepen our understanding of social injustice and empower us
to break the cycle of oppression. These techniques will provide
participants with a diversity of community-building strategies that address
interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, team-building, empathy
and personal and collective healing and growth. This workshop is intended
for anyone interested and committed to social justice and keen to apply
arts-based practices in life and work. No previous theatre experience
necessary.

Trainer: Teddy Syrette is a 2-Spirit/Gender-Fluid Ojibway artist, writer,
social worker and community advocate based in Toronto. Rasied on Rankin
Reserve in Batchewana First Nation, he grew up with close urban ties to
Sault Ste. Marie. Openly gay at a young age, Teddy was met with much
adversity and oppression. Drawn into theatre, Teddy worked with the Garden River Art Committee and the Debajehmujig Theatre Group. As a writer he has collaborated with the Manitoba Indigenous Writers Collective and assisted in developing the Sault Indigenous Writers Collective. As an event organizer, writer, performer, and trainer, Teddy offers storytelling workshops and exploration of anti-oppression and equity through theatre. Teddy collaborates as a contractor and advocate alongside such groups as Thinking Rock Community Arts, 4RS Youth Movement and the North Shore Tribal Council.

The Elevation of Keith Ellison to DNC Chief Would Be the Last Straw for Alan Dershowitz? That's Just Silly!

John Perazzo unpacks the pointlessness of Dershy's dudgeon here:
In a recent interview with the Fox Business Network, legal scholar Alan Dershowitz announced that because of U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison's past ties to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, he (Dershowitz) is prepared to “resign [his] membership to the Democratic Party after 50 years of being a loyal Democrat” if Ellison is named as the next DNC chairman.

It's actually hard to figure out exactly what's got Mr. Dershowitz in such a snit. It's not as if Ellison represents some type of sudden, radical departure from what has become the mainstream Democratic position regarding race and religion. In fact, when it comes to racialism and anti-Semitism, Ellison is a mere piker compared to Barack Obama, for whom Dershowitz voted twice. That would be the same Barack Obama who spent 20 years worshiping in the church of a racist Jew-hater named Jeremiah Wright; the same Barack Obama whose longtime close friend and mentor, Professor Rashid Khalidi, was a devoted ally of the late Jew-killer extraordinaire, Yasser Arafat; the same Barack Obama whose policies toward Israel were described by a Likud Party chairman as “catastrophic”; the same Barack Obama who, according to Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, has plunged “Israel’s ties with the United States” into “a crisis of historic proportions”; and the same Barack Obama who, in an act of historic treachery just a few days ago, permitted the passage of a U.N. Security Council resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement-building in the West Bank.

By any metric one chooses, Keith Ellison's resumé makes him an absolutely perfect choice to continue this proud Democratic tradition of endlessly stoking the fires of racial and religious antagonism...
An "absolutely perfect choice"--yes!

No wonder he's been invited by "pluralistic" Jews to take part in their "interfaith" confab.

Globe & Mail Opiner Sheema Khan Applauds Efforts to "Address the Radicalization of Muslim Youth Head On"

From her G&M bully pulpit, Sheema lauds a recent report, Women and Violent Jihad, for supposedly doing just that. The report, she says (my bolds),
provides a historical context of violent female radicalization across cultures and ideologies.
It also sheds light on the reasons why a number of Quebec women between the ages of 17 and 19 decided to leave for Syria. Many felt that it was difficult to live as a Muslim in a hostile environment that left them feeling stigmatized and/or marginalized. The Western feminist model of emancipation seemed to clash with their desire to stay home and raise a family. In contrast, calls to build and join a utopian state where one can live as a “true” Muslim without harassment, seemed like a panacea for some. The report concludes with the need for more research.
Research which will likely reaffirm the fatuous notion that it's our fault for creating the "hostile environment" that pushes these young women into the arms of ISIS.

Funny how Sheema praises an initiative that "addresses radicalization" by evading responsibility and pinning most of the blame on the infidel, no?

Homeland's Carrie, Formerly With the CIA, Now Helping Muslims Falsely Accused of Terrorism? Talk About Having to "Suspend Disbelief"

You'll have to do it--big time--on the latest season of Homeland when
a young Muslim is targeted by law enforcement after he posts videos online that are critical of the United States and its policies. He is wrongfully accused of being a terrorist. Given that it is post-9/11, officials want to pre-empt any sort of questionable actions that could lead to another terrorist attack.
Carrie will be working with an organization that provides aid to Muslims living in the United States. She will handle the case of the young man who has seemingly been pushing the boundaries of free speech. His case will be very relevant as it raises important questions on the limits of the First Amendment and whether his acts are indeed punishable by law.
You know what would be even more "relevant" re "pushing the boundaries of free speech"? A TV show examining what happens when you go off the reservation  (so to speak) and, say, criticize, climate change orthodoxy or mention how by-the-book Islam inspires the actions of violent jihadis.

Tragically, however, Hollyweird, that bastion of PC groupthink, lacks the clarity and spinal fortitude to tackle anything as true-to-life as that.
