A "Loophole" as Big As Can Be
A writer on the Gatestone site highlights a huge problem here in Canada:
You could drive a convoy of 18-wheelers (or a few herds of camels) through that sucker.
Even more disturbing is a technical loophole in the Canada Elections Act, now being brought to the fore by Trudeau's camp. The law allows foreign entities to make contributions to Canadian candidates. This means that players such as Iran or Saudi Arabia will be able to further their agendas through a particular politician, as long as they pump him with funds for six months and a day prior to his official bid for office. That's some "loophole."
You could drive a convoy of 18-wheelers (or a few herds of camels) through that sucker.
Human Rights "Justice" in Ontario
The Toronto Sun's Michele Mandel recounts the sad, sad tale of a man who rented out part of his home to difficult tenants, and who is being forced to pay them big bucks out of his own pocket following their complaint to the local "human rights" constabulary (which picks up the complainants' legal tab, so what have they got to lose by complaining?):
This poor man came to Canada from Nigeria 22 years ago in hopes of building a better life for his family.
After almost a quarter century of being a law-abiding, hard-working member of society, he never imagined his adopted country would label him a human rights violator and order him to pay $12,000 in compensation to his Muslim tenants.
“I was humiliated, I was made to feel I have no rights, I was made to feel that I’m not wanted in society,” says John Alabi, 52. “I feel powerless. They rented my place for only two months. Two months! It’s just not fair,”
The small landlord came forward to explain his position after the Sun told his shocking story last week: The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario found he failed to accommodate the religious needs of Walid Madkour and Heba Ismail by not giving them more than the legal 24-hour notice before showing the apartment and by failing to remove his shoes when he entered the bedroom they used to pray.
Now the travel agent is on the hook for money he doesn’t have to pay tenants who were in his home for only two months. And he doesn’t feel he did anything wrong...Silly man. The "human rights" busybodies don't really care if he "did anything wrong." All they care about is upholding The Holy Pecking Order of Victimhood (which is a Marxist construct). And in those ranks, Muslim trumps Black, 9 times out of 10.

Not. A. Pretty. Picture.
Mahmoud Abbas is in D.C. to schmooze with Trump in support of the POTUS's (shudder) "ultimate deal."
Let's hope and pray that Trump's nowhere near as complimentary about the Old Eliminationist as he's been about other despicable despots (Putin, Erdogan and Duterte, to name but three).
Update: Abbas knows exactly how to play Trump--speak with a forked tongue (a.k.a. taqiyyah) while ladling out the compliments:

Update: Abbas knows exactly how to play Trump--speak with a forked tongue (a.k.a. taqiyyah) while ladling out the compliments:
The Palestinian leader expressed his support for a two-state solution to the conflict and the long-held Palestinian desire for a capital in East Jerusalem, welcoming Trump's role as a mediator in peace negotiations. He said he had "hope" about prospects for peace with Trump in that role as he praised the President for his negotiating acumen."I believe that we are capable under your leadership and under your courageous stewardship and your wisdom as well as your great negotiating ability ... I believe we can be partners -- true partners to you -- to bring about a historic peace treaty," Abbas said through an interpreter. "Now, Mr. President, with you we have hope."
Trump expressed his desire to have Palestinians and Israelis draw on the Oslo Accords that Abbas signed onto as the Palestinian negotiator in 1993 and said he hoped the Palestinian leader would soon sign "the final and most important peace agreement."But while Trump spoke broadly about his desires for a peace deal and some of the barriers to a deal, Abbas drilled down on the specific complaints and demands of Palestinians.
Abbas spoke of the importance of providing solutions that would address the situation Palestinian refugees and those imprisoned in Israeli prisons, referring to "the suffering of my people."
He's also referring to territory in Israel that's under Israeli control, i.e. the part that goes "from the river (Jordan) to the sea (the Mediterranean)," so why are we still pretending that that "two state solution" is really a thing?"Mr. President, it's about time for Israel to end its occupation of our people and of our land," Abbas said, referring to the Palestinian territories in the West Bank under Israeli control.
"Why Don't Anti-Fascists Fight Islamofascism?"
Why?
Isn't it obvious?
It's because anti-fascists (so-called) are leftists who deems Muslims in toto to comprise a certified victim group, and it is therefore verboten (so to speak) to criticize anything they say, believe or do.

Sex and the British Museum
Who says that museums are dank repositories of moldy old exhibits? The august British Museum, for one, is making a bid to be seen as cutting edge and, well, sexy, by offering this 6 week-long "sex-ed" course for schoolkids:
For Key Stage 3,4 and 5 Students
Explore sex and relationship education (SRE) at the British Museum through object enquiry, activities and discussion. Working with an artist educator these sessions aim to provide SRE in a cross-curricular, creative and informative way using British Museum objects and contemporary issues to generate discussion. Workshops are based on the session themes listed below. This session would complement in-school SRE and participating schools will be provided with a set of images and information to take back to school.
The aims are that students will:• Learn about sex and identity across culture and time.• Use objects in the collection to discuss contemporary issues.• Use this session to complement in-school sex education teaching and learning.• Leave the project feeling comfortable to discuss SRE with their peers, parents, teachers – and feel confident within their own sexualities.
National Curriculum: SRE and PSHE
Session themes exploring cultures:• Pornography and consent – Japan, ancient Egypt and Greece• Body image – ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt• LGBT – India, ancient Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome• Gender and transgender identity – Africa, India and the Aztecs
As awesome as it all sounds, historian Mary Beard expresses a few hesitations:Sessions can also be adapted to suit your needs in school. Please let us know if there is a particular focus for your visit.
I have a good deal of sympathy with the basic position. That is to say, there is nothing as good at exposing one’s own arbitrary norms as looking at the arbitrary norms of the past. Part of the point of history is, after all, to show us how WE look by the standards of other times and places.
But I wonder how effective this is when done head on, in dedicated sex classes at the museum. And I wonder how difficult it is going to be to police the government’s norms in all this. What, for example, is the line going to be about Greek paedophilia? Assuming that the Athenian norm (and it was probably wider than Athens) was for adult men to have sexual relations with boys, how is the museum going to approach that? Just as another bit of cultural relativism? That might be the historical logic of it. But it doesn’t quite fit our own legal framework. So how is the discussion going to go?Good question, Mary. I have a feeling that, for now at least, the moppets will be steered away from the "unacceptable" paedophlia and bestiality exhibits and directed toward the "acceptable" transgender identity ones.

Margaret Wente Cuts Through the Crapola Re Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale"
Is Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale a carbon copy of Trump's America?
Of course not.
But, as Margaret Wente points out (the first mainstream opiner to do so, as far as I can tell), it is a simulacrum of a genuine dystopia:
As for the prospect of Atwood's "prescient" horrors actually coming to pass in the U.S. of A., Wente notes that they've already arrived:
Of course not.
But, as Margaret Wente points out (the first mainstream opiner to do so, as far as I can tell), it is a simulacrum of a genuine dystopia:
The anti-Christian narrative, that is. And in deciding to make fundamentalist, Old Testament-y Christianity the villain of her dystopia, novelist Margaret Atwood was every bit as "brave" as the boys who made Mormonism the target of derision in their silly creation (the one that, for obvious reasons, is not called/about The Book of Koran). The dystopia depicted in The Handmaid’s Tale really does exist, of course. But no one ever mentions it. It’s called Saudi Arabia, which is pretty much a dead ringer for Gilead. And, just as in the book, there really are parts of the world where homosexuals are strung up by the roadside. Iran and Chechnya, for starters. But you won’t read those things in the reviews because they don’t fit the narrative...
As for the prospect of Atwood's "prescient" horrors actually coming to pass in the U.S. of A., Wente notes that they've already arrived:
Two weeks ago, a medical doctor in Michigan was criminally charged for allegedly conspiring to perform mutilating surgical procedures on two seven-year-old girls, who were taken there in secret by their parents. These procedures are done in the name of religion. Where was the outcry, enraged editorials, and the protest marches from American feminists? The girls belonged to a Muslim sect who believe in female genital mutilation. So nobody paid much attention. In an effort to avoid appearing culturally insensitive, The New York Times even used the delicate phrase “genital cutting” in its reporting.
Raging Grannies, Worst Song Parodists EVER, "Get Their Due" at Canada's "Human Rights" Mausoluem
Lucky for the daft old biddies that they're on/of the left because there's no way they'd get any attention at all were they, say, raging Tories.
As for their dreadful song parodies...well, this one, the work of the Frisco branch and sung to the tune of "Frere Jacques," is more or less typical:

"This Is a Total Loss"
Charles Krauthammer minces no words in describing how, with a Republican in the White House and GOP majorities in both the Senate and the House, the Democrats still managed to pull out a budgetary victory.
It's pathetic with a capital "P" and it begs the obvious question.

From the River to the Sea, UNESCO's Sly Perfidy
Full text of May 2017 UNESCO resolution on ‘Occupied Palestine’
Warning: you might want to down some anti-nausea medication before reading it.
Update: Something that's equally sick-making--UNESCO plays the Holocaust game to provide cover for its plans to undermine, and, if possible, to terminate Jewish sovereignty over Israel.
Update: UNESCO's motto--"Building peace in the minds of men and women"--could be ironic, could be revolting.
Could be both if, as seems evident, UNESCO-style "peace" is more or less in line with traditional Islamic thinking on the subject, i.e. the "peace" that will be in place once the dhimmis (including the Jewish ones in Israel) acknowledge Islam's innate, God-decreed superiority, and see no other way ahead but to submit to it.
