TEHRAN – The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that a Canadian political delegation is in Tehran for talks on bilateral relations.  

Also in a phone conversation with his Canadian counterpart Chrystia Freeland on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said it is necessary to provide the condition for Iranian residents in Canada to vote in the May 19 presidential elections. 

“Iranian residents abroad are strongly willing to participate in determining their country’s future,” Zarif said. 

Freeland said that the Canadian government is aware of the importance of presidential elections for the Iranian residents. 

However, she said that some issues should be studied given the lack of political relations between the two countries. 

Iran and Canada cut diplomatic relations in 2012.  

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who took office in 2015 has reportedly been reviewing relations with Iran and, like most countries, lifted most of its economic sanctions following the Iran nuclear agreement in July 2015...

But wait, it gets worse:

According to the [anonymous government] source, the visit is also inevitably seen as a tangible sign that Canada is "committed to re-engaging" with Tehran, though no major breakthrough is yet expected in restoring the embassies that were closed when Ottawa quietly pulled its diplomats in 2012. 

Restoring relations with Iran and reopening the respective embassies closed in 2012 in Ottawa and Tehran was a Liberal promise during the 2015 election. 

I'd sooner "re-engage" with a rattlesnake: it's less venomous than the Grandiose Ayatollah.

While We Were Sleeping, Or Fretting About Being Called "Racist," the Muslim Brotherhood Has Infiltrated Local Public Schools

It's bad enough that there's a mosqueteria in a Toronto public school. One learns today via the Toronto Sun's Farzana Hassan that local public schools also host Muslim Student Association Clubs (and the MSA, FYI, is a creation of the Muslim Brotherhood):

Some Muslim Student Association clubs, for example, discuss what is haram lifestyle and may openly disapprove of keeping dogs as pets, or dressing and eating in ways other families may consider normal. 

They say that some children are questioning the lifestyle of any peers not subscribing to their religion, and that some children are even coerced to attend MSAs. If true, this does not foster the inclusive and respectful behavior which is a core value that school boards across Canada swear to uphold. 

Naturally, the dress issue comes down to decency. How does a discussion at a religious club about women needing to dress "modestly" then play out for club members when they see other girls wearing low necklines and hot pants? Perhaps there is a subconscious bias towards those girls simply for what they choose to wear.

Perhaps there's a bias against girls who defy the Muslim Brotherhood dress code?

Perhaps?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that there's a bias against them.

But perhaps that's just a function of my bias--the fact that I don't think the Muslim Brotherhood or any of its affiliates have any place in our public schools.
