The failed attempt by the U.S. to bribe Israel with a $3 billion security assistance package, diplomatic cover and advanced F-35 fighter aircraft — if Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu would simply agree to a 90-day settlements freeze to resume talks with the Palestinians — has been enormously clarifying. Thomas L. Friedman's latest failed attempt to comprehend the Israel-Palestinian situation has been enormously clarifying. It demonstrates just how disconnected from reality the New York Times pundit has become.

Why on earth wouldn't Bibi take all that is being offered with the ask being only a settlement freeze for a matter of months?

Maybe because he knows it's pointless and because people like TLF will say he took the "bribe" and America didn't get anything of substance in return (i.e. that the Jew took the money and ran).
