Well, You Can't Say He's Lacking in Chutzpah

Obama has the audacity (the audacity of a dope?) to defend his "vision" of the Middle East in front of AIPAC.

Well, as I've written before in Scaramouche's comment boxes, I don't really see Obama as being "dopey" in his proposal for the reduction of Israel to its (8 mile!) narrow pre-1967 borders. While I don't believe him to be the genius his disciples see him as, neither do I believe him to be stupid. He knows full well that Israel's 1967 borders are indefensible; further, he knows just as well what treaties with Muslim entities are worth (unless they can be enforced with lead and high explosives . . . in which case they are superfluous). The fact that Israel would be pushed into an indefensible area on the strength of unenforceable treaty guarantees is _not_ a bug, it's a feature, from Obama's point of view.

Remember, Obama is a man whose formative experiences were determined by contact with doctrinaire Marxists whose foreign-policy Bible is Lenin's _Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism_. His own mom was a Third-Worldist New Leftist, his earliest ideological mentor besides mom was the Communist Frank Marshall Davis, his political godfather was Bill "Weather Underground Bomber" Ayers, and his spiritual guide was the notoriously anti-Zionist (admirer of rabid anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan) Jeremiah Wright. To these people, Israel is just the Middle Eastern metastasis of the cancer of European civilization. They reflexively take the side of the West's enemies, and in Israel's case these are the Palestinian irredentists and the Muslim powers that support them. Obama has never repudiated the ideas in which he marinated from childhood to the present. One has to be naive to believe that Obama is being naive about the Middle East "peace process."
