The Audacity of Certainty
NYT opiner David Brooks, labouring mightilty to make lemonade from lemons as a crushing Democratic defeat looms, pens this deathless yet oddly hilarious line (
Brooks's column appeared in the Times on the 25th
but I read it today in the
Toronto Star's New York Times section
.) The line:
The Democrats are confident in their certainty.
As opposed, I guess, to being certain about their confidence. Either way, I am both confident and certain that Brooks and the confidently certain/certainly confident Democrats are delusional.
